You could save $100 and still be okay. It's not much more than just pushing the chip beyond its limits except for turning on PBO.

In the CPU advanced settings—SMU and Preferred Cores—selecting 'cache' helps the optimizer run more efficiently. A B650e board is sufficient; the 7950x3D uses only 150W, so many solid A-series boards can work too. For gaming with occasional heavy workloads, this configuration is ideal. If you mainly run single-threaded tasks, consider a 7950x or 14900k instead.
