I’m trying to keep it brief. I just built something new and am unfamiliar with OC on a PC. I decided to start with optimization. My machine has an i7 6850K, which wasn’t expecting much boost from BIOS—only XMP was turned on before the 5-way update. Once loaded and running, it began increasing speed. By 4.6 it was good but kept climbing up to 5.4 before I stopped it. It never exceeded 75°C or 1.4 volts as per the program. I’m back to default BIOS now. Did something fail or did I just get lucky with the chip?

I just wanted the 5 way program to complete its process. I don’t really want it to run at that high level—I’d be fine with something around 4.3 or lower. I saw some other discussions suggesting the program didn’t actually reach 6850K, which makes me think there might be a problem with the OC program.
