Assistance with Windows 7 on a laptop is available. Let me know if you need help!
So my five year old laptop was so slow today I decided to reset it to the factory settings. And since there is a nifty little option to do that I gave it an attempt, that's where the problems began. When it booted after the recovery there was a password, and my password four years back in time, the only hint I've got is to use my main password which does not work. Anyways, I burnt a boot CD which didn't work either, When it tried to boot it just kinda froze on the "click a button to boot the disk" and after twenty minutes it goes straight to windows recovery. I tried to crack it, doesn't work, I cant get into safe mode, I cant crack the password and I cant re-install windows. I thought about since it is already installed Home-premium its somehow locked to it, can it be a solution to install a fresh home-premium? Anyways, I need advice! Thanks
Using your recovery disk should require no password. It needs to boot from the disk and begin the reinstallation. If your system has a recovery image on the main drive, consult the laptop manual for starting instructions.
