VID-20240729-WA0005.mp4 VID-20240731-WA0011.mp4 Hardware details at the bottom. Greetings! I recently experienced some graphic issues and artifacts. Based on that, I’m unable to access the BIOS. The status LEDs on the motherboard don’t display any errors. Here’s what I attempted but didn’t resolve. -swapped the CMOS battery -changed the display port cable -used an HDMI cable -moved the GPU to the second PCIe slot -installed a new GPU on both PCIe ports -cleaned and reinserted RAM, PCIe slots, and GPU contacts. I tried connecting other devices; the screen itself isn’t the issue. My thought is that my motherboard likely has a fault. Have you encountered similar problems before? What tests could help me pinpoint the problem further? PC/setup: Screen -Asus PG27aqdm GPU: GTX 1080 Ti CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance LXP Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming X570 Plus (Wi-Fi) Power Supply: 550W solid power 11

i saw this artifact issue on ryzen cpu before - it was damaged. There is a small cahnce that its just some dirt too but small chance tho its easy to test. Just take out cpu and put back in. If it doesnt work %99 percent its cpu.

Did you check the other GPU ports? Which BIOS version are you using? It seems you’re seeing a black screen at boot. Have you installed the latest DP firmware for your 1080ti?

I also tested different DP ports. The screen goes black at startup, then shows the Windows login. I haven’t updated the GPU firmware yet, so I’ll give it another shot. Thanks!

After much effort, I now face even more issues. Instead of continuing, I’m deciding to purchase a new computer. Hope you have a great day! Edited August 1, 2024 by Murmur

Are you considering giving up easily? This problem seems to stem from software issues. Try updating the BIOS via USB flashback to version 4802. Once installed, use the built-in BIOS utility to upgrade to 5003. At first boot, turn off Armoury Crate in BIOS and ensure CSM is also disabled (legacy mode). Save and exit using F10 plus Enter. After that, remove the Armoury Crate with its uninstall tool: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury crate/helpdesk_download/. Restart your PC. You may also need to update chipset drivers: https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads.../x570.html. For more details, see the BIOS manual: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/So...?model=TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI).

Thanks for the message. However, I’m still having trouble accessing the pictures. Before this, I wasn’t able to open the Bios either—whether it’s because of my current setup or a lack of access.

The update on DP worked. You should have cleared the CMOS.

No, I upgraded the CPU. I've replaced the CMOS battery twice already. It seems the motherboard or CPU might be faulty. Fixing an old PC this old is going to cost a lot of time and money. I'm planning to sell my 1080ti instead. Appreciate your help!
