Hey, how are you? I just need some guidance. I recently adjusted the voltage on my 8700k and wasn't sure if I did it correctly. I began benchmarking with Cinebench and HWInfo, using throttlestop for undervolting. I started at -60mV and recorded the results. After 10 minutes, I lowered it another -10mV until my score dropped to around -1.77mV. Then I added another -10mV, and the scores stabilized at -1.63mV. I passed a 30-minute stability test and decided to set up a scheduled task for throttlestop in Windows. I’m not sure where to make these changes—especially on my Asus ROG motherboard. Could you help me figure out what settings to adjust in the BIOS?
I had a 9900k that overheated in summer and I adjusted the voltage. The only change was reducing the core voltage from 1.37 to 1.25v in BIOS, and it worked well. Is this the best approach? Probably not, but definitely fast! I cut the temperature from 85°C to around 60°C in games—amazing results.

I got a solid 4.7 at 1.2v, then 4.8 at 1.24v, followed by 4.9 at 1.28, then 5 at 1.32v and finally 5.1 at 1.4v. All these results came from an LLC LV6 R23. It doesn’t seem like a tough stress test since you can easily repeat it and still experience crashes in gaming or video editing. If you're based in the UK, I have a downloadable tool you can use if you want to borrow it. You might want to pick a clock speed you're aiming for and let Prime95 run for 30 minutes, then lower the voltage by 0.01v and test again until you crash. Once you see a crash, go back up 0.02v for good luck and let Prime95 run for about 4 hours before using your PC normally. If crashes continue, you can gradually increase the voltage back up.
I just tried TLOU for about an hour and everything ran smoothly—consistent 60fps thanks to the latest patch, drivers, and Windows updates. With those settings, should I push the CPU further undervolted or is it safe to stick with it? Also, someone warned that Cinebench isn't reliable for this kind of tweaking. What other tips do you have? This is my first attempt at undervolting.
VBS is active which prevents your undervolt from functioning. Turn it off by disabling VBS and core isolation memory integrity in Windows 11.
