Hello, I recently acquired a functional NEC DT700 series phone for free and attempted to configure a PBX using FreePBX. It seems the phone is communicating with the server but requires a 'User ID' and password. When trying to enter SIP account details, it doesn’t work. Could you help me resolve this? Thank you ahead of time.

There's a couple different 'User IDs' that it could be and it is a little confusing. I haven't used FreePBX, but I've done plenty of VoIP setups. There's the server/FTP username/password, usually something like p.yourwebsite.xyz and then random letters for username/password. And then the SIP/device username/password; which is I think what you need here. Can you take a couple screenshots of the console? Redact any personal/identifying information, I just need to see the fields; not familiar with their interface. Also, have you logged into the phone on the local network? You'll need to do that to complete provisioning. Typically default creds are admin/admin, but if it's partially provisioned, it might be the aforementioned FTP password; also depends on the phone. I'm typically working with Yealink devices, not sure how NEC go. If you could take a couple screen shots of the phone's UI as well, it'll be easier to point you in the right direction.

I've expanded my investigation and it looks like updating the firmware might be necessary for compatibility with non-NEC devices. Appreciate the support!
