Assistance with Fan Management
I found the Strix X470-F and came across Rem0o's Fan Control software, which looks very useful. Could anyone share this or direct me to instructions for proper system setup beyond the app? Specifically, what should I configure in the BIOS? It works with all my PWM fans but there’s an issue—when I set a fan to manual at 100%, it increases by about 8% every 5 seconds instead of the expected 1 second. I’ve already locked all fans at 40% in the BIOS to prevent the firmware from overriding speeds when temperatures change.
Avoid relying on third-party programs for fan management. Try maximizing settings within your BIOS. Or do you have a particular function your BIOS doesn’t handle?
I appreciate the detailed preferences for fan controllers. If you're keen on Rem0o options, feel free to share more details.
1. Fan speed delay effect 2. Managing gradual increase in fan rotation 3. Connecting the VRM fan of my Liquid Freezer 3 to VRM readings rather than CPU readings I prefer this setup so the fans remain quiet and avoid sudden changes. Both aspects are quite noticeable and bother me. The model I’m using (Lancool 216) comes with special 160mm front fans, but finding a quieter replacement isn’t easy. The case is positioned close to the monitor. Swapping the case or moving it isn’t feasible. The noise isn’t from constant high speeds but from quick speed adjustments during events like launching apps, unzipping files, or switching between menus and gameplay (high load in menu but low when resuming). For now, I’m discontinuing FC since no helpful guides or user experiences exist for this problem. I won’t rely on other fan control tools because I need a straightforward, lightweight solution to handle this specific issue. This model doesn’t support RGB controls either.
