Assistance with bootcamp driver installation
Hello, your installation is complete but you're facing a boot issue. You should still use the OSX install DVD as instructed in Bootcamp Assistant to set up your hardware drivers. After enabling CD/DVD sharing, try installing the application DVD that came with your Mac. For driver installation, follow the steps provided during setup. Let me know if you need further help.
Turn on the Mac and press the Option key while holding it down. It allows you to choose operating systems. During BootCamp, it prevented you from moving forward until the drivers were copied to a USB drive.
Handling some legacy files here. Running OSX 10.6.8, a MacBook Pro from 2009. The Windows support software was no longer accessible for download, so I went with the alternative—using the OSX installation DVD that came with the machine six years prior. Once I assessed the partition, I proceeded to 'insert Windows Install DVD,' placed my Windows 7 disk inside, and continued the setup. I’m not completely confident about installing the drivers now. The OSX install DVD only provided remote OSX installation and CD/DVD sharing—probably not what I needed.
