Assistance with Baseclock Overclocking
Assistance with Baseclock Overclocking
I recently assembled a new PC featuring an i5 6500 and an Asus Z170-E. I didn’t choose the I5-6600k because I believed you could revert to an older BIOS setup. Instead, I used the BIOS from the original BIOS as I thought it would work. I searched for guides on modifying this motherboard or the Z170-a, which is essentially the same platform, but couldn’t find any. It would be really helpful if someone could advise how to keep the i5-6500 properly clocked.
You're likely aware that the non-K version chips are secured and can only be overclocked on specific motherboards with a modified BIOS. Limited overclocking is possible through Turbo boost, but achieving BCLK overclock isn't feasible with the Z170-E model using standard BIOS. I've discovered a helpful resource: http://overclocking.guide/asus-z170-non-...ing-guide/
