I’m trying to figure out what’s going wrong with my system. The 5600X was a great deal, so I upgraded everything. At first, the Gskill Trident RGB RAM didn’t work as expected—it was rated for 3600 MHz at CL18 but wasn’t stable even after adjusting voltage. Eventually, I had to lower it down to 3200 MHz until I received an RMA. Later, while watching YouTube videos, my whole system shut down completely without any error messages or warnings. After a restart, it started looping and then crashed immediately afterward. I’ve tried reseating the CPU, RAM, and MOBO, flashed the BIOS, updated the RAM, tested the PSU and GPU, even used a Windows 10 boot drive, but nothing worked. All components are showing up in BIOS, and I can adjust settings or overclock them. The CPU and RAM are responding normally, while the storage and GPU aren’t. It seems like either the MOBO is severely damaged and flashing won’t help, or there’s a deeper Windows issue. I’m considering sending it back for repair or replacing the MOBO. Any suggestions?

Which motherboard? What power supply unit? Is your RAM installed in slots 2 and 4? Attempt to erase the CMOS.

Mobo is an Aorus B550 Pro with a Corsair RM650X power supply. RAM is installed in slots 2 and 4. The CMOS was cleared, which I should have noted in the original post, sorry.

Do you have an extra processor available for testing? It’s likely the issue is with the CPU itself.

I tried it today using my cousin's configuration. His CPU shows a clean boot in my MOBO results, while mine in his setup still triggers the same error. It’s frustrating since this is one of the first upgrades I’ve had in 8 years and my first experience with AMD—it ends up as a failed CPU. Hopefully the RMA process isn’t too slow; any suggestions on how long it usually takes would be great. Also, does location matter for processing time?

The AMD return process was fast and easy, though I’m based in the USA. They upgraded my CPU without any charge since they had limited inventory.
