I tried many key combinations to enter BIOS but only see this strange setting ID. Why am I getting this?! Shouldn't it be a blue screen with lots of options? Also, in this BIOS I can use the mouse! I want to overclock my CPU Q8400 to 3.0Ghz. My PSU is 150w – I know it's weak – 3Ghz isn't that much, right? If anyone has any advice, I really appreciate it. Thanks ♥

There are no overclock options in the Opti 380 BIOS. SetFSB provides only a modest boost of around 50MHz (FSB at 340). The top 380 models perform best with X5460, X5470, and Xeon processors. A Q9650 or E5450 Xeon can handle 3GHz tasks. It supports 8GB DDR3 1333 RAM at up to 1066 MHz. The recommended GPU is the Zotac GTX1050Ti Mini or GTX1050 Mini; other options don’t work. Opti 380 builds are available, including my 5th version.

It seems you're checking if the information matches the bios. The link provided leads to Dell's product support page for the OptiPlex 380 manual.

Yeah, Dell's hardware is proprietary and their BIOS settings are usually kept private. They tend to avoid letting customers overload their devices, which could lead to damage. This approach helps prevent frequent warranty issues and replacements.

I think I'm limited to 2.66Ghz, but
🙁
still better than a 3Ghz dual-core setup.

The LGA771 swap requires some effort and a sticker for the CPU.
Q9550 offers a good upgrade over Q9650.
See comparison at http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core2-Quad...Quad-Q8400

The CPU in question has no relation to an LGA775 system. A straightforward two-core overclock to reach 3.66Ghz is possible, though it needs an E7500 processor and some tape. I plan to demonstrate this on a Q6600, which can hit 3GHz, though it won’t surpass your Q8400 performance. The link provided shows some Q6600 models achieving this, with most running around 34% at 3GHz—about 28% normally. If you’re targeting an older modification on a quad, make sure to use a SLACR Q6600 with G0 stepping. The second photo illustrates the setup.
