I was wondering if the old board stopped working and since then I swapped it out for the AsRock B460 Pro4. I thought about doing a motherboard swap but realized it wouldn’t have Wi-Fi. While I was taking the old board apart for fun, I found that the Wi-Fi card connects to a PCI lane in the back. Could I possibly fit it on my new board with some tweaks? Would that work? Also, I’m just asking because budget matters.
If your board includes an M.2 WiFi slot, you can connect directly without an adapter.
He mentioned the only opportunity it has is in the dedicated E-Key M.2 slot, but that’s an AX201, not an AX200 card. So it would require a board with particular CNVi support that isn’t clearly stated. The Intel support page says YMMV and suggests possibly an AX200/210 module.
