Your college offers a single-device WiFi and requires the MAC address for registration. You've signed up your phone, but now you're using a PC without a built-in adapter, which isn't working. Previously, you connected your phone to the PC via USB tethering to access the internet. Since your room's Wi-Fi is weak, you installed a router as a repeater. You can connect the router to your dorm or college network, but devices only appear on your college's intranet. You attempted to hide the router's MAC address, but it resets to default when in repeater mode. Consider checking if the router supports MAC filtering or adjusting its settings to allow broader device access.

The college restricts access to just one device, even though mine permits a few and requests can be made. I’d bring this up to the IT department. For alternatives, consider registering a laptop or small computer. You could share the network connection behind the back and connect it to a router. This way, only one device would appear on the network while others remain unrestricted. Performance may suffer with more devices connected. Discuss registering another device with the college.

This device connects via WiFi or is purely wired? It appears unusual that the institution restricts usage to either a phone or a PC, but not both. You may wish to verify whether additional addresses can be registered.
