That’s incorrect. A BIOS is flashable and can be updated indefinitely. It doesn’t become permanently locked into a specific version.
This shows the AM4 socket doesn't cover every single support type. In fact, MSI stopped including support for the first chip on AM4 (Ryzen isn't the earliest), which is Bristol Ridge (Excavator + AM4). I'm not certain it still functions—I owned two MSI boards and managed to update to an older BIOS, but I'm unsure about newer AM4 models. You might try using the oldest BIOS from MSI, and if that doesn't work, it's likely the board is no longer available.
