Hello everyone, my system has been functioning perfectly before. Yesterday, when I attempted to boot it up, no signals were detected from the peripherals—mouse, screen, keyboard, even the case lights. My setup uses a Tomahawk B450 Max with three debug LEDs: BOOT, VGA, and RAM all flash solid red. Despite this, the PC starts normally, with GPU and CPU fans running, and case fans too. I've tried flashing the BIOS using the latest update from USB, but nothing changed. I also attempted to boot without RAM or hard drives, yet the problem persisted. Noticing that even after disconnecting RAM and HDDs, no sound came from the mainboard, I’m worried. I don’t have a backup system or extra parts for troubleshooting. It seems I might have connected an SSD from my laptop while it was asleep. Could this have caused a short circuit, damaging the power supply or drive? I’m unsure if this could have destroyed the PSU or hard drive. I really need guidance to figure out what’s wrong. My specs are: Windows 10 (version unknown), AMD Ryzen 7 3700X @ 3.60GHz, Tomahawk B450 Max GPU, 32GB RAM (2x 16384MB), G.Skill Aegis DDR4 SSD (500GB), Seagate Barracuda 3.5", CoolerMaster 600W PSU, BeQuiet case (unidentified model), and I’m not sure about the exact HDD size.

Have you experimented with using a single RAM module per channel? For example, place one stick in slot 2, another in slot 4, and keep the remaining stick aside.

Hey YoungBlade thanks for asking. Yes, I already tried it with just one Ram stick. I tried both sticks, none stick and one stick at a time in slot2 (tried both sticks to make sure its not just on stick defect)

Did you attempt a single stick in slot 4? A problem with the main memory channel could prevent startup if any sticks are present in slots 1 or 2.

It seems the problem isn’t memory-related even with the debug LED on. Did you reset the CMOS on the motherboard? Updating the BIOS doesn’t always erase all settings.

I also attempted it by taking the battery out for two minutes and by pressing JBAT1

Let's try to clarify a couple of things from your original post: Am I understanding correctly that only the RAM debug LED stays on? The other two go off? What connector did you use for your laptop SSD that you think might cause a problem? Laptop SATA SSDs generally use the same SATA power connector as desktop ones - there's no difference.

All three LEDs are solid red when the system is powered. Only the CPU debug LED stays off. The other LEDs remain consistently red during operation. This appears to be an error—I mistakenly linked the SSD to the PSU instead of using a SATA cable. I’ll share more images shortly.

This action might interfere with your power delivery system. Such a device is meant solely for the motherboard connection. I assumed you were referring to a 2.5" SATA unit like your MX500. Does that model remain compatible with your laptop?
