You're considering a choice between two games, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Think about what matters most to you—fun factor, skill requirements, or long-term value. Weigh the benefits and drawbacks to make a decision that fits your preferences.
the project was a mess but i'm not sure if the physics still felt off lol
It's a difficult decision. I have both, PCars appears more appealing, but Asseto offers a more authentic feel and a strong modding scene. If you enjoy playing with wheels and value realism, I recommend Asseto. You won't regret your choice either way.
Project Cars offers a slightly improved selection of cars and tracks compared to AC, though accuracy drops due to limited laser scanning. On the positive side, PC occasionally provides free community vehicles, while AC’s modding scene is well-established, featuring several high-quality cars from reputable studios like Formula Renault. PCars is still emerging, currently having just one car in development, though both titles support custom paint options.
Pcars resembles Grand Turismo or Forza titles more than actual simulators. It leans toward simulation with a polished feel. The AC offers a solid sim experience and is great for high-speed laps. It supports modding well and has many community additions. I haven’t tried it due to their Physx issues. Since I use an AMD card, I’m unsure if they updated the code, but it doesn’t matter. They’ve taken my business. My next sim choice is DIRT Rally.
