Hey there! I’ve been tired of hearing complaints about ACU’s performance and how it feels sluggish. Check out this short clip and give it a go! If you’re on similar hardware—like an i5 or better, GTX780 or newer—just tweak a few settings and you should be good to roll. For those with less powerful rigs, lower some parameters and test; FXAA works great with VSYNC for smooth gameplay. Before you dismiss FXAA, give it a try—it looks sharp, runs cleanly, and has no blur or jaggies. It’s actually a solid choice for this title. It works well on budget hardware, delivering solid performance. On an i5 with 760/280 cores, it should run smoothly without major issues.
Regardless of what you think about the idea, claiming AC:Unity isn't well optimized will always be incorrect. Using a console port with Ubisoft is essentially demanding basic PC tuning.
It runs poorly because it has been modified. For several weeks following release, the game was a rough, unrefined version.
I’ve got the newest drivers installed, yet I’ve played through the whole game from launch. It’s always been very fluid. Even with just 2X MSAA, it still runs smoothly, and the visuals look great thanks to FXAA. I haven’t faced any problems keeping it on the highest settings since the game was released—actually, I got it about three days before launch and it was butter-smooth!
