Hello, I have a puzzling problem I’m trying to figure out. I just received a new motherboard, an Asrock x570 PG Velocita, and there are two issues I’d like some advice on. First, I’m wondering if this board supports having the power LED remain off when the computer is in sleep mode. On my old board, there was a setting that allowed this and it worked perfectly. I’ve checked the manual—usually you go to BIOS, select advanced, then chipset configuration. There should be an option to disable the LED in sleep mode. However, when I try to access advanced settings, there’s no chipset configuration option, so I can’t turn it off. Do you know if there’s a new setting or workaround for this? Second, in the photo you shared, the RGB LEDs on the motherboard stay lit consistently, except for the top one. Even after changing colors with ASRGB software and turning off the LEDs, the top LED remains on. When I put the machine to sleep or shut it down, it keeps flashing. It’s becoming annoying because it lights up my room at night and makes it hard to sleep. The only solution I’ve tried is cutting power through the power supply, but that’s not ideal since I want the machine on sometimes. Sorry for sharing all this info. Several boards include a backup setting and a minimal voltage is delivered from the power supply unit. If you can't switch off that single LED, simply cover it with a small strip of electrical tape. I have a PCI daughter card to install a 2TB M,2 SSD and the card displays a bright green LED that keeps flashing during drive activity, which bothers me. I had to apply two strips because the brightness caused it to leak through one layer. It wasn't the most refined method, but it functions.
Used scissors to trim a 5mm square. The LEDs are compact, so no bulky cover is necessary. I employed a tiny wooden toothpick to secure a strip of tape, trimmed the surplus, and positioned it just above the LED. Using my finger helped push it firmly in place without needing to grip the tape tightly. This method avoided the hassle of handling the tape with fingers, which would have been quite awkward. I’m surprised these LEDs lack a simple switch to turn them off, especially since the green LED flickered during read/write operations while holding my 2TB M.2 SSD. That distraction made it frustrating to play games.
