I've noticed a sudden influx of really cheap (sub-$80US) ASRock x570 Phantom Gaming 4 mobos hitting the market in my local and semi-local area lately. Conveniently, right when I'm in the market for a new board to pair with my R5 5600 and replace my aging B350 board. (I'm in the middle of a piecemeal upgrade.) Is there anything to be concerned about with this particular board? I don't see it specifically mentioned in the tier list, but the "Phantom 4" seems to be landing in the B-Tier. I'd think that would be fine to support a 5600.
I haven't experienced any problems with my ASRock boards, though I've tried a few. There haven't been any red flags in reports or news. Wait—are you referring to the ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4? If you're looking at X570 boards under $80, that seems unusual. Or are you talking about used models? The B550 usually sells for $80–90, while the X570 typically ranges from $140–150.
X570 serves mainly for handling multiple GPUs or high-speed SSDs, offering limited value beyond those specific uses. It’s generally a decent build at its price point, though it lacks much else.
Sure, I meant a used one. The X570 is really affordable compared to the B550 nearby.
