I managed to blow my motherboard...
😛
(The fatal1ty board)
I bought an ASRock OC formula... this model with version 2.0 BIOS has default settings around 4.5 gigabytes, but I know it can go higher. It also supports the nick shih OC profiles, though it blue screens when I try them at speeds over 5.25GHz.
I read about this processor on an MSI board and found it stable between 4.8 to 4.9... that’s what I’m aiming for.
At 4.5G it reaches about 70°C under maximum load with AIDA64... so it can handle more...
I’m not sure which settings to use, and there were many voltage options I wasn’t sure which one would get me into the 4.8-9G range.
Anyone have a similar setup—ASRock OC formula and a 5960x? That could help guide my decisions?
Thanks in advance...

Your performance is noticeably better than mine. My temperature reached 64 degrees after 6 hours of full CPU usage (4.5), while yours stayed much lower.

Hey there!
Your performance seems much higher than mine. My temperature only reached 64 degrees after 6 hours at full CPU usage (4.5). Maybe the 3-way slipping is affecting the case temperature?
