Updated the 12600K with an Asrock H670M-ITX/ax board. Everything is running normally except the XMP DDR3200 memory. Previously, it was around 15100 on CB R23, now it’s about 17002. The BIOS mentions “Performance optimisations for 12900K,” which seems to have benefited this build.

Interesting, your current score is 12,700K and the latest BIOS offers a 12,900K improvement—no need to update. Motherboard: Asrock Z690 Extreme with BIOS 4.01. Would you like me to suggest an update?

I usually check BIOS updates regularly since they often add security, compatibility, or microcode improvements. This version looks reliable, I ran OCCT today on Extreme for six hours straight—no issues, temperatures stayed consistent. It scored about 2000 more points in Cinebench, which suggests it’s a bit quicker.

I upgraded through BIOS revisions since new ones are released. I checked the update notes but would prefer jumping to the newest version if I’d just received the board. Make sure you’re using BitLocker and suspend it before updating. Otherwise, the only issue I noticed was Windows 11 prompting me to re-enter my PIN due to hardware security, possibly because one of the updates triggered a response. No major problem—just had to revalidate my account.

Sorry to bring it up again, but I need to check if everyone is satisfied with the motherboard. Are there any visible problems?

It looks quite stable with BIOS version 10.02 installed. The system feels quiet and reliable, even though the layout isn’t the most intuitive. I’ve managed to run DDR4 at 3200 MHz and a 12600K chip—though it can’t be overclocked since it’s not a Z690 board. Performance stays solid around 17000 MT on CB R23.

Interesting. I considered using a 13700K, but noticed most ITX Z690/Z790 units cap at around 150W. I’m not sure much about that spec, though—I recall Raptor Lake delivering over 200W.
