I selected some components, they arrived, and recently I've been going through them. It seems ASRock boards are having problems lately. I'm considering replacing the board and using a budget CPU for video editing. My setup has 5200MHz RAM (40-40-40-83—definitely slow), and I’ll upgrade if possible. The PSU is from 2024. I’m planning to connect it with a standard ASUS Dual 4070, Thermalright Assassin 120 dual tower cooler, and an upcoming AM5 contact frame. As a backup, I have a 5600X paired with an ASRock B550M and 64GB 3000MHz RAM. After both AM5 builds are finished, I’ll sell the 5600 rig. It will be cooled by a single-fan Hyper 212.wraith spire eventually. So far, hardware has been reliable; I’ve only returned two boards—an ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming (DOA) and a Gigabyte board that refused my RGB setup and kept crashing Windows. * I think I’ll probably post about this on the motherboard CPU forum later.*
Consider your decision each time you could go back in time. Would you purchase again? If not, stick with it.
Just updating to the newest bios or resetting the board as needed.
