The system includes two Xeon E5-2069 chips, which may not be ideal for gaming performance. Could there be a workaround to install an i7-4960X on a dual socket board? Would it be more practical to design a newer setup instead of swapping components?

For graphics, the best option depends on your needs. If you plan heavy video rendering or streaming, consider a suitable card. For lighter tasks like nighttime gaming, a modern GPU might suffice.

For gaming purposes, upgrade to a new motherboard. Even if you manage to run the 4960x version (which is unlikely), its single-thread performance isn't sufficient for long-term use. If you intend to use it as a budget gaming rig or a server hosting multiple applications, it's worth keeping and pairing it with Xeons.

Not much is known about this setup. It seems a Ryzen 5 1600AF paired with a B450 motherboard will be more affordable and efficient. I’m confident it could limit performance for today’s powerful GPUs, as many games now require strong CPU power. Back then, the HD 7970 would have sufficed, but that’s no longer true.

Apologies for the delayed reply—I actually forgot to share this post and the General board doesn’t usually require daily checks. It’s frustrating since it feels so outdated. I suppose that’s why it was free. I’m planning to look for an affordable GPU and RAM to get the video server up and running. Still, the motherboard is quite large, and even a 500W power supply should be manageable.
