While gaming Red Orchestra 2, my CPU stays around 70°C with a peak of 77°C on Coretemp—this usually happens briefly during intense loads. I'm using the standard cooler and three fans. My old Radeon HD 7770 also gets noisy when it's busy. Watching 1600 AF benchmarks on YouTube shows similar or slightly lower temps in tougher games. Are you overheating your CPU? Should I consider reapplying thermal paste?
It varies with the workload; at full capacity it reaches 70-80°C on the stock heatsink. There’s nothing to worry about there. If you’re not happy with the outcome, consider purchasing a heatpipe heatsink for better cooling. Even an inexpensive option can provide a noticeable improvement.
