It's a fresh take on PC gaming... I just found it on Steam for $2.59. For those who've tried it, does it add value? The expansions are worth considering.

Arma 3 isn't being played much anymore, it seems. It used to be enjoyable during the peak of the DayZ mod scene.

You can't simply obtain Arma 2; you need Arma 2 combined operations.

The main site for mods is http://www.armaholic.com/. You can also get "playwithsix", a mod manager/launcher, to download. Occasionally mods are hosted privately and require contacting the owners' forums.

DayZ remains active and strong on ArmA II. Friends and I often join and play CCG there frequently. A 50-player server typically reaches capacity. Many players stick with ArmA II over ArmA III since it performs better for specific needs. ArmA III is excellent overall, but creating large, lag-free multiplayer missions can be challenging.
