Checking performance on a GTX 1070 with a Ryzen 5 1600 and 8GB RAM, getting another Black Friday deal, targeting 1080p at its peak capability.

Usually around 50 to 60 frames per second, but it varies based on the settings. I’m not sure how demanding Ark is or what it needs, so I’m making an educated guess.

Everything is altered significantly here. Medium to high quality at 60-100 FPS seems typical.

In short: You can play it decently at higher settings, but ARK appears terrible in any resolution, so I lowered it to avoid stuttering. Still, stuttering feels important for the game.

I'm a big fan of Ark, though it isn't very optimized. It really pushes my 1080ti to its limits, but playing at lower graphics settings makes no difference—medium still looks great. In my view, Ark is a visually appealing game. Just don’t expect super high refresh rates; you can reliably hit around 60fps with good hardware and reasonable graphics options. (A 1060 with 6GB used was about 50 FPS on medium detail with some tweaks for better visuals) And my 1080ti running at high settings will consistently reach 60-100 FPS on high quality.
