Are your motherboard and power supply unit suitable for overclocking?
I want to boost my CPU speed to around 4.6+ GHz, but I've read some questionable power supply reviews and don't want to risk damaging my computer.
I'm also uncertain whether my motherboard has enough VRM phases or cooling components to handle this upgrade.
Here are my details:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K at 4 GHz
CPU Cooler: be quiet! - Dark Rock Pro 3
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 ATX LGA1150
Power Supply: Aerocool Strike-X Power 600W 80+ bronze

Please let me know if you can help with any suggestions <3.
Begin with a modest setting such as 3.6GHz, even though your CPU's base clock is 4.0GHz.
