i’m facing really slow internet—about 4mbps down. it works, but it’s not ideal. the main issue is with the go client. i usually download games through it instead of the browser because it tends to be more stable and consistent, similar to steam. the real problem is that downloads take a long time—around 1gb might take an hour, but with go it could be up to 2 or 3 hours. the speed shown in the menu is around 1mbps, which is acceptable, but the progress bar often gets stuck at nearly zero until almost nothing updates. anyone else have experienced this with the client? does this seem typical for your setup?

Works fine on my end. Got an update that it's downloading right now. Could be that it downloads part of the game and your PC already starts decompressing and installing the files simultaneously. If the hardware on your profile is the one you currently have, you're running older hardware and a fairly slow HDD with no SSD. That could be the culprit for why the client doesn't saturate your connection.

It seems steam behaves differently, which is why I considered it a GOG Galaxy scenario.

Yes, it's feasible to adjust the server location similar to Steam. You might need to clear your DNS cache or restart your modem. Occasionally, the issue is just poor network routing to the GOG server.
