Hi everyone, I just purchased a 4070 Founders edition and am uncertain whether I require a replacement PSU.
Here are my current specifications:
CPU: I7-8700k
Motherboard: Z370 Aorus gaming 5
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB
GPU: 4070 Founders Edition
Storage: 250gb SSD, 1 TB HDD, 1 TB SSD
My existing PSU is an EVGA 600 B1 600W with 80+ Bronze certification for ATX.
I prefer not to upgrade my power supply, and all estimates suggest it should operate between 450-500 W. Yet Nvidia’s site states a minimum of 650W.
Do you think I should consider a new PSU?
The graphics card is still pending, but how can I determine if a new power supply is necessary once it arrives?

With a 4070, it’s best to stick to the top tier only. The cost of a sports car includes insurance and maintenance, making it a poor spot to cut costs. If you struggle to find a quality PSU, take advantage of the 4070’s return period, opt for a cheaper GPU, and use the savings to purchase a suitable PSU for that GPU. Your existing one shouldn’t be used with any new entry-level GPU. Avoid cheap, mass-produced parts meant for basic office machines or very old PCs—this isn’t the setup you’d run a 4070 on, even temporarily.

When the site lists 650W, it's advisable to opt for a 750W model.

Yes, because
is a low-quality group unit that struggles with the latest high-performing GPUs. For those GPUs, you definitely need a Tier A device

Your EVGA is Tier E!

The tier list seems a bit unclear. Are you looking for any particular suggestions that could be more affordable?

It's a decet unit. No ATX3.0 units available?
What country do you buy your PSU?
