Are you planning a movie night online?
He’s thinking about organizing a virtual movie night where everyone watches the same film simultaneously, similar to a live stream. I considered streaming the movie from his computer using special software. He’d prefer uploading the video so all participants can view it together. Since we’re in Korea and you’re in America, finding a way to bridge that distance is key. Any suggestions on tools or methods could help us make it work.
It would likely be tough without a system to handle traffic spikes, like a website or video player. If it launches at a certain point, those who follow should begin right away.
There should be a more efficient solution. Perhaps using a video capture card as a webcam on Skype, with the video coming from another computer, would allow everyone in the chat to view the movie while still being able to communicate normally. It sounds a bit complicated, but it might work better than what we have now.
You and your friend are trying to fix audio issues with Skype, but the sound isn't playing even after changing settings. The computer doesn’t seem to support the "what you hear" feature anymore. You have an old soundcard that works, but it’s tricky to set up. The GMod forum seems inactive for a long time, so it might not be possible. This is really frustrating.
I found it somewhat okay but functional. It's a website called letsgaze.com. You can browse links and play files on your device, though the files must be shared with someone else’s computer, which can be a bit frustrating. Still, it works pretty well overall. Not sure how to make it work for someone without a microphone or camera since it seems both are required and accessing their device is a concern. Overall, it’s a decent option despite the quirks.
