I recall my first night gaming when I was completely immersed in the original Homeworld back then. It’s safe to say many others shared that excitement and passion for the game and series afterward. This thread is meant for all the fans eager to own the remastered versions, launching on Steam this month on the 25th.

I’m definitely grabbing it, though I’m sad about the absence of Homeworld: Cataclysm. Unfortunately, because it wasn’t made by the same team behind HW and HW2 (and it’s unlikely the original code exists), it doesn’t seem promising for a remake. That’s disappointing since it’s arguably the best in the series. Of course, the other games are solid too, but Cataclysm’s atmosphere stands out.

It hinges on sales performance (and because the game is still in second place among preorders on Steam after only GTA V) – things are looking quite promising for the Cata remake. The issue with the missing source code is merely a marketing ploy, so they avoid making misleading claims or unnecessary promises about aspects management hasn’t confirmed. There’s no need to discard the audio and models from Cata; you can simply extract them, rebuild them, and use the 1 Remastered as a foundation.

I hope they don’t impose a limit on units. I’m eager to sneak my mothership into theirs!

They could be using caps mainly for a balance system. Or perhaps they offer options to set restrictions. Excited about what's coming up! This is my first game I've pre-ordered on Steam.
