A few days ago, while playing a game, my PC would freeze and display a BSOD with a watchdog violation. After running a scan, no errors were found, and it never happened again until recently. I experienced the same issue three times while gaming. I had installed Sonar, which caused stuttering and BSODs for watchdog violations, even after uninstalling it. After the third occurrence, things improved. I followed all troubleshooting steps online, from checking the disk to using chkdsk. The driver and Windows were up to date, and my HDD showed no problems. I also tried a fresh Windows installation. My specs are: Ryzen 5 2600, Rx570 4GB, 8GB RAM, Mobile Gigabyte B450M, 450W PSU, 2TB HDD, and a 250GB SATA SSD with 91% health.
If your SSD is used as the boot disk, then turn off 'Fast Startup'.
Open the control panel and click "Power options".
On the left side, select 'Choose what the power buttons do'.
Click the 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' link.
In 'Shutdown settings', uncheck 'Turn on fast startup'.
This might lead to issues, such as the Watchdog BSOD.
I will proceed with that then! But let me add this, I haven't experienced any BSOD and I'm showing the violence even if I play for long hours! It feels so random! But I'll follow your advice and do what you asked!
