Hi Everyone, I just completed assembling a new PC and it's surprisingly quiet. All the Nocuta fans are silent except when the PSU fan activates—it runs for about a minute and then produces a loud whirring noise. I assumed it was the fan, but once it stops, the fan continues moving slowly without making any sound, so it’s not the bearings. Could this be coil whine from the PSU or something else? I remember hearing about coil whine in amplifiers, but this feels different. Is there anything I can do to minimize it? It’s quite bothersome. Thanks for your help, Corsair RM1000e Regards

The sound can vary or disappear depending on the load on the CPU and/or GPU. It might also relate to your power supply unit if it's failing. The level of a game scene can affect the coil whine noise.

You're right, a video or audio capture could provide useful insight. If it's your PSU, running the fans continuously might help reduce the noise. It's not a perfect solution, but it could be worth trying. Otherwise, there aren't many options left.
