Usually yes, the one that came with it works well.
I put in an A80 a few weeks back and just used the preapplied version—it's fine.
Overclocking is completely unclear for a specific maximum setting. Give it a try and observe the results.

The paste included with the Cryorig works well, and I have five of their coolers. Ultimate offers solid performance for overclocking.
