The upcoming season is approaching, so I finished my wishlist ahead of schedule. To pick the best products, I considered several factors. Right now I have these items: Nexus 5 - 32 GB Unlocked ($429.99), Zotac Zbox EN760 Plus ($679.99), and Dell ultrasharp U2913WM 29in ($478.91). Since my dad is quite affluent, this seems excessive. Because of that, I’m now thinking about upgrading to the Zbox. My current gaming rig is the Asus K55N SA80403V. Its specs are: Windows 8.1 Update 1 64 bit, AMD A8-4500M Quad Core APU at 1.9 GHz, Radeon HD7640G with 4GB DDR3 RAM, and a 500 GB hard drive. I believe it handles most games I play, except newer titles. I’ve thought about upgrading, but I’m unsure if it’s worthwhile right now. I managed to play Bioshock Infinite smoothly at medium/high settings, though Mortal Kombat Complete ran low, and Watch Dogs didn’t perform well. It might be due to outdated console ports or my device not being fully prepared for today’s releases. Should I upgrade and cut something else from the list, or hold on another year with what I have? The Nexus stays, but the Ultrasharp is questionable. I plan to use widescreen for productivity like programming and schoolwork. Note: My APU might not be upgradable, but I can easily add more RAM and switch to an SSD. Edited September 29, 2014 by Majinferno
He’s away in a different place, so a made-to-measure option isn’t available. I’d prefer a custom-built unit, but I’m stuck with a pre-made one.
Some things created by NCIX include various projects and solutions.
I’d choose Amazon for this purchase. If not, I’d consider NCIX or Origin PC.
It would be tough on me if I had to cover such high costs for things like PCs. Most upgrades come from my own savings and work efforts. If I were you, I’d choose the Nexus, a monitor, or a refurbished gaming PC with solid specs. If you opt not to buy one, just wait for the next special occasion to splurge on something over $1000. Trust me, you don’t need every game at maximum performance.
