Hello everyone! Here are the details of my PC setup before we start:

Processor: Intel Core i3-12100
Cooler: Arctic Freezer i35 A-RGB
Memory: 16GB Kingston Fury DDR4
Boot Device: MSI PRO H610M-G (latest firmware)
Graphics Card: XFX SPEEDSTER SWFT210 RADEON RX 6650 XT (two fans, long name)
Power Supply: MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 80 Plus Gold 750W
Enclosure: Segotep X1 Black
Storage: Kingston NV2 1TB SSD
Operating System: Windows 10 LTSC 21H2

Today I played Ghost Of Tsushima at 1080p native, with high settings. I achieved around 70-90 FPS, sometimes reaching 100 depending on the scene. During intense moments, my PC would shut down twice—screen went black for about two seconds before it completely stopped.

I think the GPU might be overheating. Its temperature is around 87°C, and the hotspot hits 110°C, which seems to be its maximum. This has never happened in other games, but the fan speed stays at 66% (as shown by MSI Afterburner). I could try increasing the fan speed, but now I’m hesitant about playing demanding titles. Both the GPU and PSU are still under warranty.

Why would I want such high framerates in single-player games? Well, my monitor is 280Hz, so having that many frames makes the experience much smoother.

What issues might be causing this? Should I consider undervolting and boosting the fan speed? Is it normal for this GPU to run so hot? The case itself isn’t great either.

My reading indicates the case can accommodate two 120mm front intakes and a 120mm exhaust. This setup usually ensures adequate cooling airflow for the CPU and GPU. Verify that the front intakes are operating at an appropriate speed. Review the motherboard BIOS fan profile settings. You might consider swapping to higher RPM 120mm front intakes, or as you proposed, replacing the case itself if it's not suitable.

This PC case isn't ideal for gaming-grade parts. Consider removing the side panel to check CPU and GPU temps. In the end, upgrade to a high-airflow case with mesh front and 2-3 intake fans in front plus one exhaust fan at the back.

The fans need to be fully open at those temperatures, not just 66%. Configure a custom fan curve in MSI afterburner by adjusting 2 points: 50C=20%, 80C=100%, then check the box to activate it on boot. This should resolve the issue.

Yes, I've installed one fan at the back and two at the front, but I'm worried those front ones aren't working since the front case has a solid panel, making me uncertain about their effectiveness.

This works somewhat well (no crashes yet), but the sound becomes nearly too intense for my games, particularly with speakers.

I attempted to take off the side panel and now suspect it's the main issue. The hotspot temperature has decreased from 107-110 to about 103, and the fans aren't spinning as quickly as before. When the panel is back on, I notice some hot air seems to be building up inside.

There seems to be some front panel design in front of the fans. I believe there might be a few side vents, but a solid case would be a nice improvement. Where can I find them? Do you have a specific budget in mind?

The temperatures at full capacity need to be managed by increasing fan speed.

A short delay in response, but the temperatures remain around 80 degrees (91 C peak) when running at 95% fan power.
