Are you asking if 3700 is sufficient for your needs?
Hello, currently I'm purchasing my PC and everything else is already in place except the CPU. I have a 16GB 3600Mhz DDR4 B550 motherboard, Dark Rock Pro 4 case, 750W PSU, and a 3080 graphics card. My aim is to achieve high FPS at 1080p 165Hz until March, then switch to 1440p at 144Hz (around 144 FPS for the smoothest gameplay in competitive titles like Cod Warzone). I plan to tweak things a bit this year and need something that fits my budget of £300. Any advice or suggestions on a better CPU would be appreciated, or insights on how this setup will perform given the potential bottleneck of around 10%. I assume the card will consistently deliver 144+ FPS regardless.
Unlikely that the UK stock is currently terrible; I wouldn’t be able to secure one until around February. The 3700x seems adequate, comparable to an i7 9700K in performance.
For a PC, a 3700 is sufficient if you're willing to wait; a 5600x is better if you can wait for it.
