I've been searching for a CPU upgrade for a while now. My current model is an i5 7400. Recently, I discovered some engineering samples of the i7 7700 (QKNY) at very low prices in my country. Selling my old CPU for about 5 to 10 dollars could be a good deal. Are these new CPUs worth it? Or is it just a waste of money? I don’t think you should go for Ryzen or the latest Intel models—they’re selling for at least five times their real value here.

Sure, you can get it for just $5. The K version is recommended if possible.
