Are X M P profiles affecting the durability of RAM?
I own 8x2GB of Corsair Vengeance 2133 RAM. I'm setting up a system designed for maximum longevity. The BIOS on my ASUS H110M-A motherboard supports an X M P profile for this RAM. Does this impact the lifespan of both the memory and the motherboard, or is it similar to overclocking a GPU without power, as long as temperatures remain acceptable?
No, the DRAM has been thoroughly tested to operate at the required data rate and should perform well. Many DRAM units come with a lifetime warranty, and I've built setups in the past using DRAM that exceeded specifications without issues. Although DRAM can fail, such cases are rare.
