I'm just starting out with overclocking and wanted to try boosting my Core 2 Quad Q9550 from 2.83 GHz to 3.40 GHz. Are these temperatures normal? The readings were 85c for Core 1, 79c for Core 2, 81c for Core 3, and 78c for Core 4 after running Prime95 v26.6 for about three minutes. I'm using an Intel stock cooler.

Intel only provides TCase max at 71.4C. I've seen reports suggesting tcore (the value you're measuring) is roughly 15C higher than Tcase, so it seems you should be fine.
