Are these microstutters typical according to the Heaven benchmark?
The stutters mainly occur between scene transitions, which led me to suspect asset loading issues. However, since this is the second run of the benchmark, it seems all assets should have loaded properly. There are also noticeable spikes at specific times such as 1:39 and 3:08. I’m curious about these because I tested the benchmark on my laptop (i5 8300H, 1050 Ti, 32GB 2666mhz RAM) and it showed the same behavior. This makes me consider four potential causes:
* A problem with Windows, BIOS, or other software interfering with performance
* An issue inherent to the system, possibly expected
* Possible electrical interference from my home (unlikely)
* A hardware defect affecting both my PC and laptop (very unlikely)
I’ve also experienced similar problems in games like Overwatch, Killfish, BG3, so it seems these stutters might be more related to software rather than a direct cause from Heaven. The spikes in the benchmark are consistent and repeatable, suggesting there’s likely a fixable problem that can be identified.
I’ve already attempted various updates and configurations: upgraded Windows 10 to 11, adjusted DDU settings, toggled EXPO and reBAR, tried different VSync/GSYNC methods, disabled the gamebar, performed a fresh install with factory reset, run no apps, updated drivers/firmware, ran MemTest without issues, and changed power plans.
