I'm just starting with PC building and need advice on whether these components are suitable. I have a budget of 3000 pounds, and any extra details like a solid build process or recommendations would be really helpful.

Generally, you don't require Arctic Silver Thermal paste. The heatsink usually contains some of it. Arctic Silver is an older formulation and doesn't match the performance of newer products like Arctic MX-4 or MX-6, Noctua NT-H1, etc., which were developed this century. (Seriously, original AS5 is pre-2000, though it was updated in the 2000s.)

The GPU is a bit expensive. An RTX 5070 Ti would be a suitable upgrade and could cost around 750, but it's more likely to fall within the same 800-900 price range that most 4070 Ti Super models are sold for.

You might not need all those RGB fans initially. Build the system as you progress, and only add cooling if necessary.

We must understand the intended purpose of the build and the titles or applications you plan to use the system for. This is essentially one of the queries posed in this discussion;
*How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice*.

On a basic level, the design appears sound. I would prefer PWM ARGB fans over the included package because it requires a dedicated controller/hub and additional software, leading to unnecessary resource consumption. For gaming purposes, adding a smaller SSD for the operating system, applications, and launchers would be beneficial. The larger SSD could instead function as your gaming library drive.

What kind of monitor (resolution and refresh rate) will you use with this setup?

The GPU is too expensive; the 7900xtx offers better performance at a lower cost.

I'd be happy to help you with that. You're considering whether the 7900XTX or the 4080 Super I is the better choice based on your needs.

it's set up for a 1440p display, mainly for gaming but also for Discord, YouTube, and possibly video editing. Mostly gaming, with some TV viewing too. Need more tips on this setup.
