I own a Ryzen 9800X3D and an RTX 5070 Ti, and from the beginning of gaming issues have appeared. First, my CPU overheats and then it slows down. Second, in CS2 I notice frame drops but the GPU usage stays at 100 percent.

I own a Ryzen 9800X3D and an RTX 5070 Ti. When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's standard to provide complete system details. Please list the specifications as follows: CPU, CPU cooler, Motherboard, RAM, SSD/HDD, GPU, PSU, Chassis, OS, Monitor. Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this time. Have you experimented with other stress tests besides CS2?

I requested more details about the installer source for CS2. I also inquired which other games were taxed on the system and where additional title installers were obtained.

I own a top-tier PC equipped with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, Gen 5 motherboard, RTX 5080 GPU and a 1000w power supply. The FPS falls to 100 in high FPS competitive games such as CS2, Valorant, Dota 2, PUBG, Fortnite and Rainbow Six Siege?

Drives and drive settings? RAM availability? Additional connected devices? Network connection type?
= = = =
For a better understanding, utilize Task Manager, Resource Monitor, and Process Explorer (Microsoft, free) to monitor system performance during non-gaming and gaming sessions. Employ all three tools simultaneously but sequentially.
Interact with the tool window for a period to grasp system activity (or potential actions). Once open, proceed with gaming as usual.
Monitor any adjustments in the tool window, particularly when FPS fluctuates.
The visual data should highlight patterns that can be examined closely—for instance, peaks or dips aligning with FPS changes.
This process might require some experimentation to determine the optimal settings and what to observe.
Be systematic: capture screenshots for future reference. Avoid hasty assumptions—seek consistent outcomes.
For example, if a parameter changes, note the corresponding adjustment.
It may be necessary to revert or reapply changes one at a time, ensuring you record original and modified values, along with the location of each change.
You might need to reverse or retry certain actions.
Finally, make sure all critical information is saved backups at least twice, stored in separate locations away from your main computer. Confirm both backups can be retrieved and understood.

Driver is current, RAM is 32 GB, 16×2, 6000 MHz, 1:1 wired network. I use MSI afterburner for overlay.

The note mentions the installed disk drives—make, model, size, and current usage. I will now inquire about the power supply unit as well: its make and model.

I currently have an RTX 5070 Ti and I can achieve 100 fps in competitive games like CS:GO on a 2K max graphics card. I was thinking about upgrading to the 5080—would that also allow me to reach 100 fps? The moderator edited my post, so I just wanted to ask if upgrading to the 5080 would work in the same way. I also have an 850W PSU and a 2 SSD with 500GB and 1000GB available.

Checking the results again using the recommended methods has revealed any performance shifts. Understanding these changes is important to determine if the update truly addresses the issue.
