I've been thinking about purchasing another board to experiment during the day. The main concern was that the 3950X worked fine on the same board. I might buy one online from BestBuy so I can bring it back in-store easily without shipping (they’re the only parts supplier within 100km).

I use a 5600X or 5900X with my Strix B550-F and haven't experienced any USB problems. That should give you some confidence.

I've faced problems after installing my Rig, especially with the USB connection. ASUS released a BIOs update around April 21 to address it, but it didn't resolve my issue. Now I experience regular USB dropouts that only happen after reconnecting. It seems to happen roughly every ten minutes. This is really annoying because high-end components aren't cheap, so you shouldn't expect perfect performance. I'm using a Ryzen 5800X with an ASUS X570 Prime Pro motherboard. I updated to BIOS 4021 just in case, but it didn't help.

I notice that some users still face problems with USB disconnection. This suggests the problem isn't fully resolved. It brings back memories of the black screen I experienced after installing faulty GPU drivers for my R9 380. While a few drivers worked, others caused the issue until AMD addressed it two years later with multiple updates promising a fix that ultimately failed. The resolution came when people created an extensive thread on AMD's support forums, sharing our reports and frustrations. Without that effort, it's unlikely AMD would have tackled the issue properly. This situation highlights concerns about how AMD manages bug fixes, especially compared to NVIDIA and Intel, which seem more proactive.

They operate independently, focusing on particular challenges. The AGESA update a year ago was mostly successful. It became a major news item that faded once it addressed the exact issue it aimed to resolve.

Before all the AGESA changes, I had no issues at all. If updating the UEFI doesn’t help, rely on your warranty and send the CPU back for an RMA. No one likes a frustrating experience. I’m honest—my current setup is just as reliable as any of my previous Intel builds.

If the problem remains (in certain setups), it isn't resolved. It could be related to the motherboard, but seeing others face this is concerning—it shouldn't occur. I found a solution: some users continue to encounter issues, so it might affect me or others during an upgrade. I plan to check for this problem before upgrading, and if necessary, I'll return the CPU.

Many users have faced issues with defective motherboards throughout history. Should we avoid all purchases out of fear, or is there a better way to handle such problems? The reasoning behind this concern isn't clear to me.

The B85M board in my old Lenovo system has a problem with video output, and I can't get it working no matter what I do. Whether I use a dedicated card or the integrated graphics, it doesn't function. I've checked a second power supply and cleared the CMOS, even changed the RAM. My suspicion is it's a capacitor issue—sometimes it works if the PC stays unplugged with the CMOS battery disconnected for a few days. This seems to point to Intel's shortcomings in quality control, especially since I've faced similar problems. It doesn't matter how many people on this forum mention the same issue; most of us don’t have it. Your comment about AMD being to blame while ignoring the rest feels dismissive.
