I enjoy grand strategy games like Cities: Skylines and Hearts of Iron 4 by Paradox. My setup works well at 1080p with an i7-6500u and a GTX 950M, but I’m curious about the configurations others use to get the best performance, especially in late-game when it gets demanding. I also appreciate mods such as Kaiserreich in HOI4, which offers a more immersive experience than the original game.

You mainly seek the quickest single-thread CPU. They’ve gradually added more threading to their games, but with at least a quad-core processor, single-thread speed still matters most. I’ve mostly played vanilla lately, but I’m gearing up for a Game of Thrones multiplayer campaign in CK2 soon—exciting!
