The game demands high graphical performance. After years of play on low settings, I'm curious about pushing my setup to its limits with a 9400F, 1660 Super, and 8GB RAM.

I handle high performance up to 60fps on a 1060 mobile device, meaning your setup is more than sufficient for this task. Its graphics capabilities are limited to the 2010 era.

WT operates on toasters. For a fresh setup, skip Intel chips and consider a Ryzen 1600AF or Ryzen 3600.

I don’t understand exactly what you’re asking, but that CPU looks quite average for the cost. Ryzen offers better value and should deliver more performance here. Also, AM4 will last longer than the current Intel socket situation. I also played War Thunder on an original Phenom, which was a second-gen model with an AMD GPU. Back then, I was a bit on a budget until about three years ago, when I switched to an i5 (2400u?) laptop.

I chose Intel because I won’t be upgrading soon and I’m mainly playing games.

However, AMD offers better CPUs that won’t require changing your platform during upgrades. Intel’s current socket won’t be available anytime soon, so you’ll need to purchase a new motherboard when upgrading. AMD’s current socket remains supported through at least 2022, making this a smart investment. This processor is similarly priced and supports overclocking. The motherboard is affordable and handles all your needs.
