I'm curious to find out if others on this forum have already received Android's new nearby share update, which is a new airdrop competitor from Google. It was released about two weeks ago for certain devices and planned to expand to more Android 6.0+ models over the next few weeks. Two weeks later, I haven't noticed any nearby share notifications on my Samsung Galaxy S8. The update should appear through a Google Play Services patch, but I haven't seen any app updates on my phone despite regular checks. I'm wondering if anyone else has it and what model they own. Could you let me know if there are any places where I might find it? Also, could you clarify whether this information should go in the operating systems section or the phones section? Thanks for your help!

It seems few users understand the reasons behind keeping this option active.

You don’t need to switch it off. Just enable it whenever you wish to send a file. Before using it, you must install the latest update on your device.

The Pixel 3 XL is missing this feature. I wouldn’t consider using it at all.
