Looking for a device to handle various tasks like coding, streaming, writing, photo editing, browsing, and watching movies. You want something that comes pre-installed with Linux.

It means the system is designed to work seamlessly with Linux right out of installation. Most standard PCs can run Linux without special setup, so you don’t need advanced hardware. For basic needs, a decent mid-range motherboard paired with a Ryzen 3 or 5 processor should suffice.

It’s likely you can assemble a Linux system for less than $500. Look into options and share your project in the New Builds and Planning forum for feedback.

You can typically operate Linux on any standard machine, just purchase an affordable computer and set up the desired distribution.

I see, machines running Linux by default are great. I hope there are laptops available. That way, there won’t be any driver problems across different Linux distributions. Something similar to System 76 would work, but it’s too costly for me.

I don’t recall the exact source or brand, but there is a company that produces laptops with Linux installed by default. I’m sure I can provide more details if you’d like.

You could simply purchase a ready-made system and set up your preferred Linux distribution instead of building one from scratch.

Dell once offered Linux-based solutions, but it's unclear if they continue today. They likely didn't gain much traction since their pricing remained similar to Windows.
