Hey everyone - planning to bring up the hero tomorrow. I have four NVMe drives, including a 4-bay RAID 0 setup, plus my 4090. My concern is whether everything will work without using GPU PCI lanes. It seems like because the 4090 is thick, I can't fit it in slots 1 or 2, so I'm putting it in slot 3. That means the other two drives should go into M2_1 and M2_2, right? And they'll all run at PCIe 4x4?

X16 on PCIe3 can support a 4090, so an x8 PCIe4 should work as well. A 2080Ti only slightly exceeded the capacity of 8 PCIe3 lanes. When AMD introduced PCIe4 for the X570 it drew criticism. Intel’s PCIe5 addition seems excessive. The budget range remains solid with PCIe3. For 1080p and some 1440p, PCIe3 is adequate. I’m focusing on PCIe3 details this week—check your motherboard diagram to confirm lane availability. Edited January 22, 2023 by Bombastinator

It seems possible to utilize all three M.2 slots plus the lower PCIe port with an M.2 adapter while avoiding GPU lane conflicts. The devices are at least Gen4. The Mobo guides might not capture this clearly.
