Are there any broken temperature sensors on the FX-6300?
I'm testing the fx-6300 @3.9 with expected temperatures but not seeing what I expect. Using a cryorig h7 with paste gives around 13-15*c on idle, which seems inconsistent with the room temp of ~20*c. During a stress test with prime95 at 4.2 turbo, I reached a high of 43*c. Are these values typical for the first day with the new cooler?
FX temperature sensors perform poorly at low or room temperatures when idle, so you don't need to worry about that much. Your load temperatures are great, and the sensors stay accurate around 38°C.
What software are you employing to monitor your temperatures? It's mostly AMD Overdrive for reading FX temperatures, but keep in mind Overdrive displays the thermal margin rather than the precise temperature; therefore, a reading of 10ºC indicates it's 10ºC above its thermal threshold (maximum 72ºC on FX CPUs), meaning the real temperature would be 72 - 10 = 62ºC.
The software you're using to monitor your temperatures is not specified with exact details. However, it's worth noting that AMD Overdrive provides thermal margin information rather than precise temperature readings. When using Open Hardware Monitor, it displays actual temperatures which align well with the thermal margin values shown on Overdrive.
